well, it's obviously been quite a while since I did a post. Sorry about that. It has been very slow here for the ministry. Last summer was too hot, and this fall and winter too wet. However, today was pretty good. a little cold, but doable. We had a family reserve this morning so at 9 we started cleaning horses. They were very dirty, as you can imagine. I don't have any pictures from today yet, but I will post some if I get them. We have a birthday party scheduled for Jan. 9 and a new family coming out tomorrow to ride. so there is still a call for a horse ministry. We did some trading for some hay and that will be here by Monday. Praise God for that. Other than a possum eating some of our chickens, all of the animals have done well. Leroy and I continue to live day to day, not making plans, just seeing what happens. That can be exciting, but never boring.
God Bless and Merry Christmas

Celebrate Life and Dayspring

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
Well our horses sure worked hard in the last week. We went to Katie Voss' first birthday party last Saturday. She sure is beautiful. Then on Sunday we gave rides at the Harvest Fest at Dayspring. On Friday we did about 100 rides at Celebrate Life. I was pooped!!!! and Saturday I drove to Katy to see the GoFish guys. It was a blast.
I have redone the waiver but the font isn't quite right, so I will fix that before we put it on the site. We have 1 new baby chick that hatched last week. We gave away 1 young rooster. The horses ate free grass for 8 days last week. They look good. Roy did their feet on Oct. 23rd. We wormed them on Sunday. and today they are eating grass in the back field. We all need a rest!!
Love.

what a week!
GOD IS GOOD!!!!
actually, what a month!! We have only had a very few people come by for the ministry due to heat, rain, heat, and more heat!!!! I kind of wonder just what God is up to, but I believe that He is still on His throne and still loves us!
Due to some personal health issues and the ensuing financial burdens, I had to try and find a home for 2 of our horses. SO....it was hard, but Joe and Bandit went to live with a new family on Thursday. They are just over on 1044. and then the other 3 got to go to Lakecreek to eat 3 acres of belly high grass. They are very happy! Madison and I went and rode today. The weather was wonderful, and the horses did very well for us. I was a little nervous, I hadn't ridden in a month!
Tomorrow I plan on doing some much needed work on the fence, the chicken coop, and the barn. Before they left all 5 horses had gotten out and were in the neighbor's pasture. Now we have to fix the gate and the fence on the side nearest 725. I spent my lunch hour getting them back in. I was very muddy, so I took 3 showers on Thursday!!! What a day.
I hope that things get back to a little more like normal soon. Thanks for praying for us!!!

Praise GOD for the rain!

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
We canceled the ministry this morning due to lots of mud!!! But that's a good thing!
I plan on pulling weeds some today. You are welcome to come help if you don't mind getting muddy. I am a fan of my rubber boots. They sure keep my feet dry.
Mamacita hatched 3 babies this week. That means we have 6 little chicks this late summer. I can't call it Fall just yet!
I am posting a picture from last week when the Bibbee kids rode with us.
God bless you all

another HOT day

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
we did get 1/10th inch of rain during the night. Just enough to make it messy for a while this morning. We had some new kids for the ministry today. Aubrey, Anthony, and Lexi. We were joined by Shea and Taylor, Crystal, Madison, and me. They rode Jim and Bandit and JoJo went along for the walk. We hung out in the shade as much as possible. I am anxious for cooler temps.
We now have 2 hens setting on nests. Mamacita started setting on Monday. The other chicks should hatch by next weekend. I will keep you posted.
Pray for RAIN!

Ausust ALREADY!!!
GOD IS GOOD!!!!
well, I survived kid's camp. you would all be really proud of the water activities that I participated in. however, I learned that I am really not physically fit!!!
Madison and Crystal did the ministry last Saturday while I was gone. They had all of the neighborhood kids. They practiced commands here in the yard. Thank you ladies.
Yesterday we had Taylor, his Mom Sandy, Madison, and Crystal. We rode around the block and visited Crystal's horses. Praise God, we had cloud cover most of the way. The horses did very well, even Mack. It was a good day.
Pray for rain, and for some birthday parties to get booked soon. We need to do the boy's feet next week or so. We took Jim for his coggins and his shots last week. There is always something!
Have a great week.

a day late ( or 6)

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
I am way past due for last week's ministry posting. We had a great time, a new family, and they were very generous with a donation for feed. Thank you so much!!!!
We took JoJo with us just because he seemed to want to go. The heat is hard on an old boy. we all made it and I am posting a picture from that day. It's of the neighbor kids with Madison in the back pasture.
Keep praying for RAIN!

July 14

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
well folks, lots has happened in the last 2 weeks. My daughter Katie is now ENGAGED! The wedding is this Sept. 4th but they will have their reception on May 1 when they renew their vows and are able to have the party that they really want with Jeff's family here. Reed is a Marine and is currently deployed. Lots to plan!
plus, we were given a new horse. Brownie is 20, a retired rodeo heeling horse. a couple from near Kingsbury gave him to us. We used him on Saturday. He will settle in very nicely here once he knows the routine.
It's hot and dry. keep praying for rain!

another month has slipped by
GOD IS GOOD!!!!
Praise God, it is raining, very slightly, but it IS Raining! we will take it.
We had 8 people for the ministry last Saturday. It is such a blessing to go in to the woods at Mr. Fricke's. the temperature is 10 degrees or more cooler. We opted not to go much further, because we were hot. We purchased 5 round bales of hay this week. That should last us a while. A few inches of rain really gets the grass growing here. I hope that we get a second cutting this year and that will ease the burden on Leroy some. We only get about 6 eggs a day now, even the chickens think that it's too hot. We don't have any parties scheduled right now. If you know of some one who wants to have a horse event, tell them about us.
God Bless
Miss Ginny
this flower is called a lady slipper they grow in the woods in Maine where it is very damp and cool. My brother took this picture for me.

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
Saturday, June 13
no one came for the ministry this morning so Madison, Crystal, and I got to ride. Crystal worked with Mack. He has been in training a lot this week. He went to the Simpson house on Thursday and Friday and Mr. Russell gave him a few lessons. Madison really has been consistent in teaching her horse. Then Crystal gave him lessons today. He has learned to drop his head when asked. He is a little barn sour but we can get past that.
We had some home school families out on Wednesday evening. They had a great time. And today we had a birthday party. A very busy week!!
another hen is setting on a nest. that means more babies by July 4th.
work is great lots of kids Leroy has been mowing the church yard and shredding with his tractor.
I hope to see you all soon.

the end of May already

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
a friend encouraged me to sign up for Facebook so I did that on Friday. it took a little time, but now I have my own page. It was good to hear from some former coworkers.
Last Wednesday Leroy bought us another horse. He is black with 2 white socks. He has a little white on his face also. He is 13 years old. On Wednesday he held his head way up but when Madison lead him for the ministry on Saturday he was calm and walked with his head down. He needs about 50 pounds of weight added on to him and some muscle but he sure is pretty.
We had Mr Roy do his feet on Friday. He did very well.
On Saturday we had a new family come out for the ministry. We had a great time. I am posting 2 pictures from that day.
No hens are setting, but I am glad that all 14 babies from this Spring have survived and are growing. Plus the 10 from earlier this year. o got 12 eggs today.
I hope to see you all soon.

end of May updates

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
Champ and Princess went back to the lady in Stockdale who had originally donated them to us. So, we are once again looking for a ministry horse. We miss Champ especially because he and Madison were bonding well. Their former owner wanted them to stay together and unfortunately, Princess wasn't a ministry horse. We will see what God does now!
We have 5 baby chicks with our one eyed chicken and Mr Leroy bought me 3 white babies for Mother's Day. We were given 1 small white chick and 1 brown one by my friend Katelyn. One of our mama chickens has taken over these 5 new babies. We have never had a hen want to adopt before, so it has been very interesting to watch.
I came down with strep throat on Friday. So, no attending graduation or today's baby shower. I feel better, but I am still raspy.
Praise God for our wonderful rain!
Next week is our church yard sale. We will start back riding at 9 on Saturday, June 6th. Then we have a party scheduled for that afternoon.
Please pray for God's hands on our ministry
Blessings to all

We had 2 families come by for the ministry today. Jade and her Dad and her brother, and Miss Jen with Kate and 2 boys. It was lots of fun. Miss Kelly brought Ishada and Madison got to ride Champ the whole way. They are really developing a partnership together. I didn't take any pictures, but I will try to remember to tomorrow. We have 5 new baby chicks. Katelyn W gave me 2 babies and Mr Leroy bought me 3 for Mother's Day. Plus we have 2 hens on nets here.
Last night we hosted a graduation party for Kat Taylor. There were about 50 people here. I will try to post again tomorrow with photos.

end of April updates

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
Praise God for the wonderful rains. We got almost 3 inches the last 2 weeks. The grass is green, the horses are muddy, and the chickens are busy with bugs.
Due to the swine flu drama we have canceled the church yard sale planned for Saturday. I will be here, if you plan on coming out, please call my cell phone. 515 0603
Champ and Princess are settling in. We are looking for a home for Princess, I told Leroy that I would not have 4 horses of my own. 3 is plenty. and it seems best to try and keep just geldings. If any one has an idea about her future, please let me know. Here is her picture from 2 weeks ago. She has filled out some and is losing that winter hair. The birds will have blond hair in their nests!
Roy will be here next week to do the horses shoes. Jim lost one the other day because he got caught in the fence. It's time anyway.
I am not working until May 11th because the preschool shut down until then. We are cleaning everything there so that it will be ready when we get back.
the 10 baby chicks are all doing well. there is now one more hen on a nest. Her babies should hatch May 20th or so.
Have a blessed day!!

They're HERE!!!

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
we went to Stockdale and got our newest additions yesterday. today we brushed them and led them around the yard. Champ is very attached to Princess, so we will have to work on that. They saddled well, and were happy to be brushed for a long time today. I didn't try any bits, but it looks like they will remember how to act under saddle and will adjust well to us. I told Leroy that we would only keep 4, so in a few weeks we will have to make a decision about which 4 to keep. You all know that I am not a fan of mares, mostly becasue the boys don't think with level heads when there are girls around. They all want her attention and forget about people! Here's a picture of Champ.
then, this afternoon, Madison and I rode Jim and Bandit over in the fields across the street. that is our first time to go, just the 2 of us, and her with total control over Bandit. They did very well, of course, Madison prayed before we even got on! Thank You, Lord Jesus!
We will do a short ride on Saturday morning. I have to go to church to help prepare the Seder meal. We have over 200 people coming to learn about the Passover Meal. Also, May 2nd is our big church yard sale, so I will be doing that instead of the ministry that Saturday. If you have some stuff that you want to donate, let me know.
Keep praying for rain!!
Blessings to All,
Miss Ginny

what a great God we serve!
GOD IS GOOD!!!!
we have had a total of 3 horses offered to us in the last 2 weeks. I need to look at the third one, but here is a picture of the first 2. For those who have been around, the gelding looks like Woodrow and seems to have his personality also. The mare kind of looks like Huck did. We were able to go to Stockdale on Saturday and see them. The party girl got sick and so we had to postpone LeAnne's birthday event. We did get to watch a little bit of a rodeo in Stockdale though. The lady who has the horses knows my daughter and her Mom and Dad raise Brahma cows. They have a beaautiful ranch. What a small world we live in!
More pictures to come!

very sad day

We lost a faithful friend today. Huck got sick this morning and died this afternoon about 3:30. He was such a good boy. We had him almost 4 years. He came from a friend of a friend of a friend in Stockdale, Tx. It was a true miracle how he fit in with the other horses. He always was at the bottom of the pecking order. He had a good life here, and we used him just last Saturday. I am going to search through my pictures and post one of him. Thanks to every one who loved him. We will miss his calm presence. This picture is from the weekend of the 28th of February. I think that it is Friday afternoons party for Trent. I haven't seen the photos from Saturdays party yet. My batteries didn't work this past Saturday but I know that Nicole took some good pictures. Blessings to all

Zero

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
those who have ever been here have met my old white dog, Zero. She was almost 16 years old and loved me greatly, and I will miss her. She died on Monday afternoon about 3:50. Our wonderful neighbor, Diane was with her. Zero had gone down hill quickly in the last 5 or 6 days, so we were somewhat prepared. She is buried out back by the horses and the tree that is growing out there. I am thankful that she died here, that she wasn't alone, and that she blessed my life for many years. Every one should be loved like that!
There is a good picture of her on the website that Lana took with a party plate by her. She loved to eat!
I am putting her latest picture on to this posting ( if I can find it)
Thanks for caring!

GOD IS GOOD!!!!
Sunday Jan. 4
It sure seems strange to type 2009!. Happy New Year
my son, Marcus, and his wife Dana surprised us with a visit from sunny California. They went with us for the ministry on Saturday. Dana is a great photographer so I look forward to some good pictures.
I went to Maine to visit family on Dec. 26. I am posting a picture from that trip. This is the river near where I grew up. There are some big chunks of ice up there!
See you all next Saturday at 10.
